The client was a successful consumer goods company that had built a strong presence selling non-food products on Amazon. Looking to expand into the snack market, they approached VFD Food to develop a new product. Within just three months of the initial idea, the product—a freeze-dried yogurt snack—was launched, thanks to the client’s effective marketing capabilities and VFD’s expertise in quality production. As a result, the product quickly gained traction and is now ranked highly on Amazon​.

Project Challenges

Competition in the snack market is the biggest challenge, as it’s a highly lucrative and sought-after segment on Amazon. To help the client succeed, VFD Food assisted in developing unique products with added health benefits, all while ensuring a competitive price point. VFD’s expertise in managing short lead times proved invaluable. From the initial concept to final delivery, VFD worked closely with the client at every stage—product formulation and testing, ingredient and packaging sourcing, label review, graphic design, formal production, and delivery—completing the entire process in just three months​.

Logistics posed another challenge, as the client only used Amazon’s Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA) service, meaning that all products had to be shipped directly to Amazon’s warehouse on compliance pallets and within a scheduled timeframe. VFD’s packaging team worked around the clock to ensure timely delivery, meeting Amazon’s strict requirements and helping the client successfully launch the product​
